Following the announcement on March 30 that 10 000 coronavirus field workers will be deployed to do home testing, the police have issued a warning about letting strangers onto your property.
The field workers will be visiting homes in villages, towns and cities.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said residents must be vigilant and verify whether people at their gate are in fact field workers if they say they are.
“We plead with the community to download and use the My SAPS app to provide tip-offs and report crime,” said Sekele.
A statement on the SAPS Facebook page stated the move to deploy medical teams to conduct home testing is a proactive step.
“However, we must emphasise that this opens the door for criminals to exploit.
“Since the measure has just been announced, we have no means to identify and communicate the verification process,” the statement read.
“Please communicate this important message to all members of your household, including your domestics and gardeners.
“Please also make your neighbours aware, especially if you have elderly neighbours.
“The beauty of each challenge is that it has brought us together and moulded us into a stronger community.”
