St Francis learners visit Melville Koppies

This hands-on learning enriches classroom ‘book learning’.

Life Sciences learners from St Francis College took their annual trip to Melville Koppies Nature Reserve recently.

Volunteer guides took the 95 learners in groups to show them living examples of what they have learnt in the classroom, for example parasitic plants, nitrogen fixing plants, contained ecosystems, different soil types, etc.
