Benoni police give steps on how to report crime

Residents should take note that there is a suggestion box at the Benoni SAPS Client Service Centre for any complaints or compliments related to the service.

The Benoni police would like to educate the community regarding the procedure on how to report crime or complaints correctly.

Spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said this is to work hand in hand with the community in order to render good and proper service delivery and for the community to get help as quick as possible.

The steps for reporting complaints:

• Press the panic button or call 10111, give precise details, name, location and crime in progress and get a reference number.

• Contact sector vehicles:

Sector One: 071 675 6715

Sector Two: 071 675 6716

Sector Three: 071 675 6718

Sector Four and Five: 071 675 6720 or 071 675 6721

Sector Six and Seven: 071 675 6719 or 071 675 6728

• Contact the relief commander on 082 332 4875.

• Call the station duty officer on 071 602 3090.

• For general enquiries regarding sector policing, general concerns or complaints can be communicated to the relevant sector commander during office hours.

• Contact the Vispol commander, detective commander and station commander only after the above procedure was done and absolutely no service assistance was rendered.
