First #Straatbraai of 2020 a success

The street was cordoned off which provided a safe environment for little ones attending the event.

Morehill resident Byron Mitchell (left) is the reason that Jacaranda Scenic Drive presenters, Philicity Reeken and Joe Mann, among the team (who are absent from the photo) were at the first #Straatbraai held in Benoni.

Braai and Benoni are both beautiful words when used in the same sentence.

The Jaracanda Scenic Drive team thought so too, which is why they held their first #Straatbraai of 2020 in Morehill on January 31.

Broadcasting live from Leyds Street, the team invited the community to join them from 4pm to 7pm at the home of Byron Mitchell.

Byron felt that the street he lives on qualified to be the most beautiful street and was proud to request that Benoni’s street be put on the radio station’s map for their first #Straatbraai.

Needless to say, his request was accepted and his confidence is what brought the team to Benoni.

The braai was started while the live broadcast kicked off.

Overall, it was a great event for Benonians to enjoy an evening out with their loved ones, a good braai, great company and a cold beer for those over 18.
