New app for matric results released

Results will be accessible on January 8.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) in partnership with the Department of e-Government has developed an app where learners will, for the first time, be able access their matric results from any smartphone device.

The matric result app is among 53 other applications available on the Gauteng website, accessed at www.gauteng.gov.za.

MEC for Finance and e-Government Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko said digital transformation was disrupting every industry and it was time government stepped up to the challenge.

“This is a sign that technology can create solutions for many of the problems we are facing in government,” said Nkomo-Ralehoko.

“We are developing various applications to resolve service-delivery challenges.

“Through this app, learners will save time, travelling costs and conveniently access their results.”

Steps to help learners access their results:

• Access the Gauteng province website via www.gauteng.gov.za

• Go to the All Popular icon

• Click on Access Matric Results

• Go to View Services, then click on Visit Site

• Punch in your ID or examination number.
