“One of the men produced a police identification, and then the homeowner opened for them,” said Maqabe.

“Once inside, one of them took out a firearm, threatened the homeowner and his two sons and tied their hands with a cable.”

Maqabe said as the robbers left, they saw a tenant and they also threatened him with a firearm then they body searched him.

“The suspects took the tenant and forced him to get into a white Hyundai with no registration numbers and drove off with the blue lights on.

“Community members chased after the suspects and the suspects were corned in Kingsway,” he said.

Two suspects were then arrested, three fled and the tenant was rescued.

The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash, two cellphones and a laptop.

A case of house break-in and kidnapping was opened at the Etwatwa Police Station.
