300 Daveyton youth attend empowerment workshop

The workshop was filled with activities and speakers on the day that discussed purpose and what innovation is.

The Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation marked their 15th anniversary in 2019 and to celebrate their milestone they partnered with the Startup Academy to develop entrepreneurship as a viable and credible career choice by hosting a full day workshop for 300 unemployed youth in Daveyton on December 7 at the Music Academy of Gauteng in Putfontein.

The workshop was aimed at equipping the youth with entrepreneurial skills, delegates attended to both theory and practical sessions that stimulated self-reflection, purpose driven thinking, problem-solving and pitching.

The sessions were facilitated by Startup Academy which is a school for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs with a realistic approach to entrepreneurship that balances both the need for formal training of critical skills and experience.

At the end of the day there was a panel discussion that looked at entrepreneurship and investment and a masterclass that explained innovation.
