Clive Scott ends U3A meetings on a high note

The U3A will resume in January 2020.

Members of the University of the Third Age (U3A) were treated to a lecture titled Warts and All by actor and motivational speaker Clive Scott on November 12 at the group’s end-of-year talk.

Clive, who is also a film producer, director, lecturer and palmist, is also famous for his role as Ted Dixon in the television series The Villagers and made appearances in Isidingo: The Need, Life Begins at 40 and River Horse Lake.

According to Clive, Warts and All is his one-man show telling stories from his birth in Parkview, move to Springs and, after the death of his father, a move to Muizenberg (Cape Town), where he developed a stammer.

Despite the odds, he rose above the challenges and pursued a career in acting after successfully overcoming his stammer.

Hearty laughs echoed through the room as Clive touched on the ‘good old days’ and his many adventures at the bioscope, finding young love, his youthfulness, being disciplined by his mom and gran and living abroad.

The lecture ended with U3A member Tico Poplak thanking Clive for his comedic yet insightful talk and wishing the other members well over the festive season.
