Four shebeens closed in Emandleni during operation by Actonville SAPS

According to acting spokesperson for the Actonville SAPS Sgt Godin Nyathi, the shebeens were closed because they were operating without being licensed.

An operation conducted by the Actonville SAPS on November 8 resulted in the shutdown of four shebeens in the Emandleni informal settlement in the Actonville/Wattville area.

“Forty cases of alcohol were confiscated from the shebeens,” said Nyathi.

Nyathi added that those operating the illegal shebeens were fined R1 500 each and the alcohol was destroyed.
