Security prioritised at Western Extension Halloween Walk

Children's' safety was prioritised at the event

On October 26, the Benoni AfriForum team and security companies joined forces to support the Western Extension village Halloween trick or treat walk in Russel Street.

“Our main purpose was to make sure the children are safe,” said AfriForum Benoni’s deputy chair Ettiene de Klerk.

“Despite the threat of rain earlier in the day, the weather held up and scores of children turned up with their parents to enjoy the trick or treating.

“The local restaurants en-route also participated in making this a fun event and handed out sweets to the children as they passed by.

“This was another huge success for AfriForum and our thanks go out once again to the security companies for their support as always.”

“What a privilege it was to see families and friends laughing and having fun while knowing that we are there looking after their safety. It was a night I’ll never forget,” said AfriForum head patroller Jacques Laubscher.
