The Department of Roads and Stormwater is currently implementing phase five of Pretoria Road, which, according to Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe, commenced on September 23 and is estimated to be complete by March 28, 2020.
Gadebe said the 2019/20 financial year budget will be used to construct 450m of additional outer lane.
The City Times previously reported that phase four of Pretoria Road was complete on August 16, using the 2018/19 financial budget.

Residents have also reported on the road being uneven and the road markings not visible, with others commending the friendly site worker who directs the traffic to be very entertaining and courteous.
