Guests enjoyed a light lunch and socialising before going on a tour of Willowmoore to stir up memories of the days they walked these corridors as learners of Benoni High.

The Benoni High School Class of 1969 got together on October 12 for their first official reunion after leaving school 50 years ago.
Willowmoore High School hosted the affair in its school hall.
The school was formerly Benoni High, until the end of 1973 when it moved to its current premises in Dalrymple Street, Northmead.
Current principal of Willowmoore High Lorna Sanders welcomed guests and the school’s choir and marimba band provided entertainment.
The Class of ’69 flew in from all corners of the globe to make the special 50th reunion part of their visit to South Africa. From overseas are Anthony Goldman (left, USA), Edmond Muhlenberg (USA), Andrew Kitts (USA) and David Liebich (Australia).

Calson Netshikulwe, a Grade 11 learner at Willowmoore High, was one of the learners who accompanied the Class of ’69 on a walkabout of the school.
Mary-Anne Aitken accompanied her husband, Clyde, to the reunion. The couple are seen mingling with Gerrit van der Stelt, also of the Class of ’69.
Clive Webber, a teacher at Benoni High in the early 60s, was a guest speaker at the reunion.
