Successful weekend for BFS

The suspects, aged between 25 and 36, will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of drugs, dealing in drugs, business robbery and housebreaking and theft.

It was a successful weekend from October 11 to October 13 for the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers who arrested seven suspects and recovered seven motor vehicles.

“Five were arrested after being found in possession of drugs, two of them in Mocke Street, Daveyton, where 36 rocks (cocaine) were confiscated, one in Pillay Street, Actonville, one at Zelmond Street, New Modder and one at Aletta Street, Rynsoord, with dagga and Mandrax being confiscated in these cases,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“Two wanted suspects were traced and arrested at Harpur Avenue Taxi Rank for housebreaking and theft and at Webster Street, Parkrand, for business robbery.”

In further policing seven abandoned motor vehicles were recovered:

• 318i BMW at Rondebult Extension 23 hijacked on an Alexandra case

• White Hyundai H100 at Goniwe, Ivory Park stolen on Pretoria West case

• White Toyota Quantum at Windmill Park hijacked on a Heidelberg case

• Red Volkswagen Jetta at Ivory Park Ext Seven hijacked on a Tembisa case

• Red Kia Sportage at Ext Six Tsakane hijacked on a Tsakane case

• White Peugot Boxer at Clayville Ext 26 hijacked on a Midrand case

• White Mercedes Benz at Mark Shope Street, Tembisa stolen on a Tembisa case.

Investigation continues in all cases.
