A case of hijacking is being investigated by the Benoni SAPS after two vehicles were stolen at Lakeside Mall at around 6.25am on October 8.
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said the owners of the vehicles, a man and a woman, had parked their vehicles and were speaking to each other when two suspects appeared.

“One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the female victim,” said Sekele.
“Then a second suspect pointed a firearm at the male victim.
“Both the victims were instructed to lie down and were searched.
“The suspects took a cellphone and a firearm during the search and then drove off with both vehicles.”
Despite reports of one of the vehicles being recovered, Sekele said this could not be confirmed by SAPS.
