According to a report on social media from a local crime group, between five and six suspects were involved in the CIT heist.

The message on the group stated the security workers from G4S were on duty at a retailer, and upon their return to the truck, the suspects approached them.

One of security workers allegedly drew his firearm but the firearm jammed and the worker ran towards the truck.

The suspects relieved the worker from the shock trolley, the report said.

They fired numerous shots but did not hit the security worker.

The driver of the CIT vehicle drove into the suspects’ getaway vehicle, which has been confirmed as a hijacked vehicle in a Linden case (West Rand) by BFS W/O Grant Giblin.

The report further stated the suspects fled in the vehicle but later abandoned it and the cash trolley and fled on foot.

According to the report, the Corsa Bakkie was recovered and no cash was taken.
