Little beauty queen gives back to community

Kay-Lee also handed out food packages to Homestart in Mowbray Avenue.

Miss Golden Glamour Star Supreme Helping Hand winner and Western Extension Guardians ambassador Kay-Lee Lundberg (6) recently visited Pauline Davis in Bunyan Street to give elderly residents care packages consisting of non-perishable foods, such as noodles, flour, teas and coffees, as well as toiletries.

The Laerskool Rynfield learner collected the most non-perishable items for the pageant and as a result was awarded all the items collected to deliver to a charity of her choice.

“My husband Allen and I also collected items from work, neighbours, family, friends as well as Spar,” said Kay-Lee’s mother Caroline.

Kay-Lee, who is also a model, said she wanted to help because “people need food and love”.

“We are truly grateful to all sponsors involved in this initiative and we hope to do more charity drives like this in future,” said Caroline.

Deborah dos Reis of the Guardians said the organisation was thrilled to have Kay-Lee as their ambassador.

“We feed around 20 elderly people in a month and between 40 and 50 when we can afford to feed more people,” said Deborah.

Residents at Pauline Davis said they were very grateful for the packages.
