Raising money for people with disabilities

A day filled with fun was had by all who attended.

A fund-raiser for Jacob’s Vision was held recently in Benoni AH.

Jacob Kruger, the person whom the initiative is named after, lost his eyesight after an accident in 2005 when the bike he was riding collided with another vehicle.

Apart from losing his sight and sustaining multiple injuries resulting in other long-term effects such as partial hearing loss, Jacob also lost his wife in the accident.

Along with Jacob, the driving force behind the fund-raiser is Hell Razors.

Hell Razors is a Kempton Park-based charity biking club and Jacob is a member of the club.

Despite the odds, the Hell Razor was determined to ride again.

Jacob is able to ride on his bike, at a controlled speed on a track, by listening to instructions from fellow biker Ian Howard who directs him while riding ahead of him.

The aim of the initiative was to raise funds and awareness for bikers with disabilities who are still able to succeed despite the challenges they face.
