Seven-year-old boy hit by a bus in Actonville

No passengers from the bus sustained any injuries.

A case of culpable homicide has been opened after a seven-year-old boy was hit by a bus on July 16 at the Caledon Street and Birmingham Road intersection in Actonville.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 8am and found the young boy lying in the middle of the road.

“The bus that had struck the boy was parked just a short distance away,” said Meiring.

“Medics quickly assessed the boy and found he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.”

Meiring said, unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

No passengers from the bus sustained any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

Actonville SAPS spokesperson Capt Pheello Mothapo confirmed the case was opened at the station.
