Vehicle recovered soon after hijacking

A case of hijacking was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

A vehicle was recovered shortly after it was hijacked on July 10 in Farrarmere around 6.40am.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said a woman was hijacked on her driveway while reversing by a man wearing a balaclava.

“The man knocked on the driver’s window and pointed her with a firearm,” said Sekele.

“The woman came out of the vehicle and the man hit her with a firearm on the head.”

He then fled with the Golf 7 and left the woman lying on the ground.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital.

The vehicle was later recovered by the EMPD in Boksburg and no arrests have been made.
