Three arrested for attempting to bribe cops

Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers recently arrested three suspects for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and then attempting to bribe officers.

“In Prince’s Avenue, near Benoni Plaza, officers came across three suspects in a silver Ford Ranger,” BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin said.

“It was discovered the vehicle was stolen in Midrand and the suspects were arrested.

“They attempted to bribe the officers with R2 000 which added a charge of bribery to their fate and the cash was confiscated and the vehicle impounded.”

In Tembisa, officers arrested two suspects in Enxiweni and Isiziba Sections in connection with bank followings and armed robberies and recovered an unlicensed 9mm pistol and five live rounds of ammunition in one of the suspects’ possession.

“A suspect was arrested in Makhulong Section after he was allegedly found in possession of a silver Nissan NP200 hijacked in an Ivory Park case,” Giblin said.

In further policing, two abandoned vehicles were recovered A maroon Toyota Conquest in Ivory Park Extension 12 and a white Toyota Corolla in Dersley Ext One, Springs.

Both were stolen in Pretoria West cases.
