Police’s operation nabs suspects

Investigation continues in all cases.

It has been another successful weekend for the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers who made five arrests and recovered three vehicles from June 7 to 9.

“In Daveyton officers arrested four suspects in Esselen, Gelesa, Vivian and Sia streets, for alleged crimes ranging from murder to domestic altercations and possession of nyaope,” said BFS WO Grant Giblin.

“In further policing, three abandoned vehicles were recovered, a white Chevrolet Spark at Hago Street, Daveyton, also hijacked from Daveyton, silver Chevrolet Aveo at Oakmore Station, Pretoria Road stolen on a Tembisa case and blue Hyundai I10 at Kraft off-ramp on N12 East, taken in a house robbery on a Cleveland case.”

Officers also followed upon information that led to a man allegedly being found in possession of rocks (cocaine) with an estimated value of R450 in Kempton Park.

“He was arrested immediately and the drugs confiscated,” Giblin said.

Members of the community are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or any information to their local police station or contact 10111.

The suspects aged 20 to 39 years will be appearing in local magistrate’s courts facing charges possession of drugs, murder, attempted murder, assault, malicious damage to property and contravening a court order.
