Five wanted following a house robbery at an estate near Main Reef Road

No arrests have been made, but a case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

Police are on the hunt for five suspects in connection with a house robbery on May 30 at an estate on Main Reef Road.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said it is alleged that five men wearing balaclavas found a resident of the estate walking around and held him at gunpoint.

Sekele said the suspects assaulted the resident and took his cellphone and wallet.

They then went to one of the houses in the estate.

“The suspects entered into the house through the back glass door, which they broke down,” said Sekele.

“They then woke up the owners, held them at gunpoint and demanded cash, which the couple didn’t have.”

“The robbers then took four cellphones, a flat-screen television, a school bag and a handbag.”

No arrests have been made, but a case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.
