Walk the talk with Kids Haven

Join in on the fun.

Walking is inevitable, so why not walk for a purpose with Kids Haven this July 28 at the 18th edition of Joburg’s most iconic walk at the Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia – the MTN Walk the Talk with 702.

And you won’t walk alone because 20 of the children from Kids Haven and three care workers will walk the talk as well to join the 5km walk.

According to fund-raising coordinator, Susan Daly, the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 event caters to walkers of all fitness levels and abilities.

“There’s a 15km walk which winds through some of Joburg’s iconic landmarks, an 8km walk which goes through the leafy suburbs around Emmarentia, and a 5km walk which attracts a lot of families walking with kids, prams, gran and gramps, and even the family dog,” she explained.

“Entries to join Kids Haven for the 5km walk are R300 – which includes a daisy bluff.”

Daly is also looking for the funds to place the 20 children and three care workers in the walk.

“Please help us to cover their entry fees,” she asked.

“This event matches our health priority where we believe every child needs to be active to be healthy.

“Kids Haven promotes sport and this walk is another way for our children to get moving and to be part of the community around them.”
