Body pulled from the Boksburg lake

This is not the first time a body has been floating in the lake. Back in 2016 the Advertiser reported on two such incidents.

The body of a man was found floating in the Boksburg Lake on Monday, May 13.

According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Const Ntsako Ledwaba, a witness reported the matter to the police.

“The cause of death and age of the man is still unknown. We are still investigating the matter and there is no proof that it was a homicide,” said Ledwaba.

“The police pulled the body out of the water and it is still unclear on how the body ended up in the lake.”

He said the police are patrolling the after around the lake following concerns raised by ward councillor Marius de Vos of criminal activities.
