Young and old residents headed to the polling stations to cast their vote in the 2019 elections on May 8.

The City Times captured some eager voters at Unity Secondary, Putfontein Primary and Petit High schools.

Most of the voters said they hope for more job opportunities, better housing and a country led with no corruption.

Daveyton residents Jabu (left) and Sannah Thomo made their mark on May 8 at Unity Secondary School. They both said they hope there will be change and no corruption.
Steven Smit (16) accompanied his brother Clinton George to vote at Petit High School. George said he is hoping for more job opportunities.
Oupa Madlopha cast his vote at Unity Secondary School, Daveyton. He voted for the African National Congress (ANC) because he knows that Cyril Ramaphosa will keep his promises and he will bring economic change that will benefit everyone.
