The arrested pair, aged 33 and 37, was detained at Benoni Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.

A special operation in and around Benoni drug peddling hot spots resulted in EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers making two arrests and a seizure of crack cocaine with over R15 000 street value.

“A tip-off led the DEU to an address in Kemston Avenue whereupon 101 rocks, 66 naked pieces and 35 knotted plastic with rocks – valued at R15 150 were uncovered,” said Chief Supt EMPD spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago.
