Freedom Day celebrations tomorrow
Celebrations start at 9.30am at the KwaThema Stadium.
Ekurhuleni residents are invited to join Gauteng Premier David Makhura and Ekurhuleni executive mayor councillor Mzwandile Masina as they lead the provincial Freedom Day celebrations under the theme “Celebrating 25 years of Democracy” at KwaThema Stadium, in Springs, tomorrow (April 27).

Makhura and Masina will take part in a memorial walk in honour of the late Eudy Simelane, a Banyana Banyana player, who was brutally murdered in a homophobic attack 11 years ago on April 27.
The walk will start at Simelane’s home, in Springs, and proceed to Eudy Park for a brief wreath-laying ceremony before reaching KwaThema Stadium where Makhura will deliver the keynote address, followed by social cohesion games and an arts and culture festival.
