Donate time or money to Greater Benoni Child Welfare

The Non-Government Organisation serves the children of the Greater Benoni area, including Daveyton, and their focus is to protect and uphold the rights of children in these communities.

The Greater Benoni Child Welfare is in need of volunteers and several donations to ensure a better lifestyle for the children they take care of.

“We advocate on behalf of the children who have been abused, neglected, abandoned or orphaned,” said the director of the organisation, Elsie Labuschange.

“We then place them in an environment where both their physical and emotional well-being are developed to give these children an opportunity for a better future.”

Residents are welcome to volunteer in the form of helping the children with homework, arts and craft, visiting and taking the children out for weekends or sponsor a child and play with them.

They can also serve on the management committee, donate in the form of cash, food, clothes and non-perishable goods to the charity shop or assist with fund-raisers.

Anyone willing to assist or who knows of a child in need of this care can contact Labuschange on 011 849 5241 or visit their office in Third Avenue, Northmead.
