Ekurhuleni metro divisional head for communication and media relations Nhlanhla Cebekhulu said a procurement process for the rehabilitation and construction of the Middle Lake dam wall is needed to restore the dam to “the state in which it was”.
Cebukhulu said the second phase of the dam repairs consisted of the investigation of the cause of the damage, rehabilitation and construction and stated the metro is currently undertaking the supply chain process to procure services for the same.

“The process requires that services be procured from external service providers,” explained Cebukhulu.
“Another element of this process is getting quotations from service providers to determine which service provider will be used.
“Once this process is complete, the rehabilitation and construction will start.”
