Hijacked vehicle recovered in Farrarmere

The vehicle was found abandoned with stock missing as the perpetrators were able to get away with some of the goods.

On February 4, members of the EMPD Equestrian Unit recovered a hijacked vehicle in Farrarmere within half an hour of the incident being reported to authorities.

According to EMPD Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the goods vehicle carrying electronic equipment was hijacked in Kei Street at 8.30am and recovered in Rothmans Street at 9am.

“The EMPD Equestrian Unit members received a lookout for the hijacked vehicle,” said Kgasago.

“Unit members, who were on patrol in the area, responded swiftly to the lookout given and managed to reach the vehicle within minutes.

“In-depth investigations are underway with the objective of rounding up the perpetrators.”
