EMPD bags bikes for training centres

A better future for the training centres.

The Junior Traffic Training Centre (JTTC) in Benoni will have new equipment this year thanks to the EMPD Drill Squad bagging second place at the Nasrec Rand Show Drilling Competition held recently.

“The EMPD Drill Squad earned them bikes and push-wheels for the JTTC,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, which will be used to train primary school learners in road safety.

This equipment was awarded to the EMPD by the Gauteng Community Safety Department.

“Thirty bikes to the value of R20 000 and 120 push-wheelers was their reward for coming second in the tough and close competition in which Gauteng Traffic Police, Tshwane Metro Police and Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) took an active part in,” Kgasago explained.

“The first place was taken by the JMPD.”

The equipment will also be placed at the EMPD JTTCs situated in Kempton Park and Vosloorus.
