DA leader talks job creation during Kasi-to-Kasi tour

The aim of the tour is to promote the party’s message of South Africa for all.

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane kicked of his Kasi-to-Kasi tour at the Mbikwa Cindi Hall in Sgodi, Daveyton, where he met and engaged with parents of Grade One learners on January 9.

The aim of the tour is to promote the party’s message of South Africa for all.

Maimane was accompanied by the DA Gauteng shadow MEC for education Khume Ramulifho, DA constituency head for Benoni Michele Clarke and other councillors.

During the visit he set out the DA’s vision for creating a fair education system that leaves no child behind – and that ensures young people are well-equipped to successfully enter the working world.

Maimane said South Africa is divided, with one part having decent education and jobs while those in townships don’t.

“We want every home to have a job and that ultimately we want to make sure that our communities are safe,” said Maimane.

“We want an education system that makes sure those who start school finish school.”

The DA leader also promised to build better houses, better policing and economic growth within the townships should the party win the election.

“We will build three bedroom houses and not the matchboxes that the ruling party has built for the people, he said.

“It is also time for the criminals to stop walking free on the streets and for corrupt leaders to be sentenced.”

Maimane said if voted into government, the DA would introduce a one-year voluntary national service where school leavers, like your own in 12 years’ time, can develop income and skills.

“The future of the economy that our kids will enter is that of small businesses where the DA will grow opportunities through increased funding support and removing silly rules that get in the way of their fair access to jobs,” he said.
