According to EMPD Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago officers recorded four fatalities and made several arrests between December 1 and January 4.
“The fatalities included a cyclist, two passengers and a pedestrian,” Kgasago said.
“A total of 42 drivers were arrested for drinking and driving in Putfontein and Benoni.”

He said three suspects ended behind bars for being in possession of Cat (methcathinone) and crystal methamphetamine.
“The suspects were arrested in Actonville and other areas of Benoni.”
