Grade Ones had a successful first day

It was a successful first day for our little ones.

Youngsters bid farewell to their parents as they stepped into their Grade One classes ready to take on the day in their respective schools on January 9.

Little ones from Ashton International College preparatory, Arbor Primary School, Rynfield Primary School and Laerskool Rynfield were excited to heed the call of putting on a uniform, making new friends and journeying through the day.

Their principals shared some insights and well wishes with the City Times.

Walter van Rensburg: Laerskool Rynfield very happily exceeded our capacity and look forward to keeping the Grade Ones positive and giving them a good year. We received over 200 applications for 2019.

Lynette Cuthbertson: Rynfield Primary School received well over 300 online applications, but we accepted 144 learners. I wish the little ones a magical year ahead and I just want all the children to be happy and reach for their dreams both academically and personally.

Patrick Arentsen: We had about 507 applications and accepted 150 learners. This year we aim to give the Grade Ones and all our learners a good year. They grow so quickly and we would like to just help them along the way.

Gertie Testa: As the principal of Ashton Junior College, I wish the little ones a good year. We are a Christian-based school and we try to instil our Ashton values in the children. We have 64 learners and have two more spaces available.
