Drugs valued at R17 500 found in Actonville

They are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.

On December 17, at around 2:30pm, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members acted upon information provided by the community of Actonville about a couple suspected to be dealing in narcotics, and confiscated drugs valued at about R17 500.

“The location provided was raided and a man and woman found in possession of crystal methamphetamine and CAT ((methcathinone)) valued at R17 500 were arrested,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“Upon searching the house, in Pillay Street, the metro police uncovered 41 ziplock bags of crystal meth and 26 ziplock bags of of CAT,” Kgasago said.

“The pair, a foreign national male (32) and a local woman (30) were detained at the Actonville Police Station on charges of possession of and dealing in narcotics.”

Four bags of crystal meth and 26 bags of CAT were found.

They are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
