BFS makes two weekend arrests

Grant Giblin said members of the community are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or any information to their local police station or contact 10111.

Two suspects were arrested and two vehicles were recovered over the weekend (December 7 to 9) by the Benoni Flying Squad members.

“One suspect was arrested on the corner of Woburn Avenue and Rothsay Street for perjury while another was arrested on Atlas Road, Bonaero Park, after an altercation at a garage,” said Benoni Flying Squad spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“In further policing, two abandoned vehicles were recovered. A silver Hyundai Accent at Ivory Park Extension Two, hijacked on a Midrand case and a white Toyota Corolla at First Street, Tembisa South, hijacked on a Rabie Ridge case.”

The suspects, aged 36 and 52, will appear in their local magistrate’s courts soon facing perjury, assault, resisting arrest, crimen injuria and possession of a dangerous weapon.
