These roads will be closed to traffic during the Toy Run

The entrance fee is a donation of a toy for less privileged children.

On Sunday, November 25, Benoni Northerns Sports Grounds will once again be the final destination for the 36th annual Toy Run.

The fun-filled day promises live entertainment and a wide variety of stalls and food vendors.

The biking fraternity gathers toys to donate to less fortunate children around the country.

The entrance fee is a donation of a toy for less privileged children.

The following traffic measures will be in effect on the day.

The Benoni CPF, Metro and other organisations will be ensuring motorcyclist safety through the suburbs to the end venue.

The organisers request that members of the public be patient while the mass rides pass.

No car may interrupt the mass ride.

Roads which will be affected are:

• Atlas road near R21 (high motorcycle traffic and pointsmen)

• Great North Road (high motorcycle traffic and pointsmen)

• Hospital Road (closure to cars plus high motorcycle traffic and pointsmen)

• Aerodrome Drive (closure onto Hospital Street)

• Aster Street (closure onto Hospital Street)

• Angelier Street (closure onto Hanekam Street)

• Sonneblom St (closure onto Hospital Street)

• Stokroos Street (closure onto Hanekam Street)

• Hanekam Street (closure to cars from Hospital Street to Vygie road)

• Farrar Street (closure onto Hospital Street)

• Dalrymple (traffic past the schools)

• Brodigan Street (closed to cars)

• Vygie Road (closure onto Hanekam Street)

• Deane Crescent (potential closure onto Hanekam Street)

• Webb Street (closure at Hospital Road intersection)

These measures will be in effect from 8am until approximately 2pm (depending on volume) on the day.

All mass rides start at 9am from the following points:

• North: Irene Village Mall

• South: The Blockhouse.

• East: Carnival City Casino.

• West: Silverstar Casino (Silverstar is a long ride)

To facilitate a safe flow of the 10 000 plus motorbikes there are four mass starts with safety marshals, metro and provincial police support.
