Benonians, you live in the “Best Performing Metro” in Gauteng

The Mayor said this is testament to the fact that the "obsessed-with-quality-service-delivery" Ekurhuleni metro delivers

Ekurhuleni has been named the best performing metro in Gauteng, in the Gauteng Region Observatory (GCRO) Quality of Life Survey (QoL) 2017/2018.

The GCRO conducts a QoL survey every two years to track perceptions and mega trends on social, economic and governance issues across Gauteng.

Mayor of Ekurhuleni Mzwandile Masina is encouraged by the findings.

“Since assuming office in 2016, we have set out to build a stable ANC-led coalition government, which is pro-poor and obsessed with quality service delivery.

“The results of the survey are a testament to the fact that the ANC-led Ekurhuleni metro delivers.”

The QoL 2017/2018 revealed that in terms of Satisfaction with Services, the Ekurhuleni metro was ranked number one, ahead of Johannesburg and Tshwane.

“Our Siyaqhuba Accelerated Service Delivery programme is increasing our efficiency in dealing with service delivery challenges timeously,” Masina said.

“The launch of the My Ekurhuleni Mobile App has also empowered the citizens of Ekurhuleni with the ability to act as the eyes and ears of the metro

in reporting service delivery issues.

“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to service our citizens and decrease the time it takes to deal with service delivery issues.

“There is still a lot of room for improvement, but we are delighted to be the number one metro in terms of delivering services to our people.”

Speaking at the release of the fifth edition of the Gauteng Region Observatory (GCRO) Quality of Life Survey at the University of Johannesburg on November 14, Premier David Makhura commended the Ekurhuleni metro for its outstanding service delivery performance.

“Across various services, the Ekurhuleni metro has seen steady improvements to the point where it is now the best performing metro.

“I commend mayor Masina for his good work,” the premier said.

The Ekurhuleni metro surpassed its neighbouring metros at 66 per cent, while the Johannesburg and Tshwane metros trailed behind at 63 and 56 per cent, respectively.
