The Benoni High School class of 1970, who attended the school which is today known as Willowmoore High, reunited recently, at the Benoni Country Club.
A total of 51 past pupils attended the reunion, of which two travelled from America, two from East London, two from KwaZulu-Natal and one from Cape Town.
Past pupil Genevieve (Westley) Lacy said it had been 48 years since they matriculated and wanted to reconnect and have a good time.

Class of 1970 reunion organising committee member Margeret (Charalambous) Pappas said the reunion was held at the Benoni Country Club because this is where the group held their matric farewell.
“The committee met in January to start planning the reunion. Many memories were made in the process. It was hard to trace some of the pupils,” said Pappas.
“However, on the day of the reunion we had a wonderful time.”
The hall was decorated with school uniform blazers.
The past pupils who attended the reunion received a special memento.
