Support Lifeline Ekurhuleni

The organisation also supports various victim empowerment programmes, in partnership with the government, across Gauteng.

Corporates or individuals looking to support a non-profit organisation (NPO) in the coming year may want to consider making LifeLine Ekurhuleni that beneficiary.

Gary Chapman, of the organisation’s sales and marketing department, said supporters can be guaranteed that LifeLine Ekurhuleni is a well-run and ethical organisation which prescribes to all the necessary governance and oversight.

“Audited financial statements are available for scrutiny and we welcome providing all further information which may be necessary to potential sponsors,” he said.

Chapman added that LifeLine is a section 18A-approved organisation.

“A taxpayer making a bona fide donation in cash or of property in kind to a section 18A-approved organisation is entitled to a deduction from taxable income, once we’ve issued them with the necessary 18A receipt.”

LifeLine’s core focus is its lay counselling service from the office in Western Extension and its satellite office in Tsakane.

The organisation is reliant on donations from the public and private sector and also runs a charity shop at its Benoni premises to raise extra funds.

“The businesses in Western Extension are a fantastic support-base for us and often host charity evenings to raise funds for LifeLine; we are so grateful to have this important partnership on an ongoing basis,” Chapman said.

“We always welcome donations for the shop – anything secondhand which is still in good condition, but particularly men’s clothing.”

The charity shop is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8am to 2pm.

Donations can be dropped off at LifeLine, 3 Russel Street, Western Extension, and they will also collect if necessary.
