Family fun with the CPF this weekend

The event kicks off at 9am with various activities and live shows to entertain the crowds throughout the day.

The Benoni Community Police Forum (CPF) will host its annual family fun day fund-raiser on November 3 at the Northerns sports grounds behind John Barrable Hall.

The Benoni CPF, who were placed third in the recent Provincial Awards ceremony, is hosting the event in order to raise funds for members of the CPF who are unable to purchase CPF gear but wish to render their services to the forum.

Entrance is free and extra security measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of all who attend, with special security emphasis on children.

Benoni CPF public relations officer Marinda Beukes noted the focus of the day is on family and community fellowship.

“There is so much negativity in the country and the CPF carries an enormous responsibility to perform effective community service so this (fundraiser) is just a way to say ‘let’s have a fun day’ knowing full well the responsibility we carry,” said Beukes.
