Bug poses a danger to trees
According to Pitzer, the bug comes from Vietnam and damages the system of the tree which can result in the tree dying if it is not treated.
Arborist Jaco Pitzer was the Benoni Horticulture Society’s guest speaker at the Four Seasons Nursery recently.
Pitzer spoke to members about the polyphagous short hole borer (PSHB) bug that poses a threat to trees in the Johannesburg area.
