Helping children learn about recycling

Ronnie Recycler and Tammy Taylor Mrs SA semi-finalist Sharlene Correia visited Kids Haven Nursery & Pre-School and The Bridge School on September 28 to educate the learners on the importance of recycling.

The nursery school learners got a Ronnie bag to take home and fill with recyclables to bring to the school to place in the Ronnie Bin.

Kids Haven collect an excess of two tonnes every month, which is additional revenue for the school.

The organisation will take part in the Mpact Recycling Competition and have previously won second place, with prize money.

“The community supporting by bringing recyclable paper makes this a worthwhile project,” said Correia.

“These children need all the aid they can receive so we would please encourage the community to bring the recycled paper through to Kids Haven.”
