A new start for Benoni Home Start

Strydom said the official launch of the revamp will take place in the month of October.

Home Start in Benoni CBD is five per cent away from having a new start.

This is according to director Erica Strydom who said the revamp comes as a result of a Mandela initiative which began in July.

“The revamp at the offices was done to create a safe and peaceful environment for families and children that we support,” said Strydom.

Strydom explained the new look of the offices was owed to the contributions of all involved in the project and expressed her gratitude to the following sponsors:

• Absa Home Loans Division for painting the interior of the offices.

• Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora for the raw materials needed to make the blinds for the offices and for their contribution of play materials for the children’s playroom.

• HR Solutions for assisting in the painting and clean-up of the offices.

• Sunward Park Gemeenskapskerk for making the desks in the training room, painting the interior door frames and planting in the garden.

Other contributions made by the church include handy-work in the charity shop and repainting shelving in the children’s room.

Strydom said the revamp would be complete when children from Home Start include their handprints on one of the newly painted walls.
