Collision results in minor to serious injuries in Brentwood Park

A boy was found in a critical condition and airlifted to hospital

A boy was airlifted to hospital after he was flung from a vehicle involved in a collision on the M45 Great North Road, Brentwood Park, yesterday (October 2) at around 4.35pm.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst, a total of 18 people sustained minor to serious injuries after a mini-bus taxi and heavy motor vehicle collided.

“Due to the seriousness of the boy’s injuries, the Netcare One Specialised Helicopter Air Ambulance was called to airlift the child to the hospital,” said Herbst.

ER24 spokesperson Clair Wolstencroft said two more individuals sustained critical injuries and were transported by ER24 by road with Advanced Life Support intervention.

“All patients were treated on the scene and transported by various ambulance services to the hospital for further assessment and care,” said Herbst.

“All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.”
