A treat for senior citizens from Care and Share

Todd ensured everyone walked away as a winner by giving a gift to every senior citizen who attended the event.

Audrey Todd is the head of the Care and Share initiative which recently treated the elderly to a day of festivities at Old Bens Sports Club.

This was done in an effort to “give rather than receive”, as Todd said, a fundamental value instilled in her from an early age.

Senior citizens from Benoni CBD, Rynfield and Daveyton were treated to a day of live entertainment, food, beverages and prizes.

This included a hat competition for the elderly to show off their creativity with the recipient of the first place receiving R1 000.

Benoni High School pupils attended the event to assist Todd in her efforts to show the elderly they are loved and appreciated.

Volunteers and Benoni High School pupils dedicated their services on the day to the Care and Share initiative.

Todd was grateful for their contributions.

She said she tried to be fair to all homes and rotates the homes that are invited each year.
