Developing Actonville through paving project

Making Actonville safe for pedestrians, cyclists and runners

The Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) project is an initiative aimed at the safety of cyclists, pedestrians and runners in Wards 29, 30 and 31 in Actonville.

The project will run from Birmingham Street, through the informal settlement into Joubert Street.

“We are expecting it to be finished by August or September,” said Haseena Ismail, Ward 29 councillor.

According to Ismail, the project was started on August 4.

“It’s good for development in the area and residents will be able to walk better.”

“It’s a great project and makes the area look more attractive.”

Ismail said she would be paying close attention to the progress of the project and hoped there would be more projects like this in other areas of Actonville.
