A puurfect day for felines

There were different judges for each round which enabled the cats to receive a fair scoring.

It was a puurfect day for the Cat Fanciers’ Club of South Africa on August 11, which hosted its Championship Show and Gauteng Top Cat event at Lakeside Mall.

There were 113 entries of cats that were groomed to perfection and judged accordingly during the three rounds which commenced at 9am.

To further enable a more accurate score, the judges (14) were invited and either specialised in a particular breed or all breeds.

The cats were separated according to their sections: Persian/exotic, medium hair, foreign, Siamese/oriental and household pets.

Each section consisted of adults, neuters and kittens and the top of each breed competed for the Gauteng Top Cat.

The Gauteng Top Cat was Despicable Me Neva Angels of Cobaltorino (Siberian), followed by the runner-up- adult Karnaki Rum & Coca-Cola (Munchkin) and Almathea Blue Marine of L’Exquisite (Persian).

Neuters: L’Exquisite Incroyable (winner- Exotic), Kashew’s Raven NQ (American Shorthair) and Timshay I am Panda (Birman)

Kittens: Colorkats Kingsley (winner- Maine Coon), Rextacular Basadora (Cornish Rex) and The Legends Kawasakiii of GeeDee (Maine Coon).

Household pets: Astro-Nomica (Domestic SH) and Princess Layla (Domestic MH).
