The Ekurhuleni metro stated in a press release on Monday (July 30) that road construction will be taking place in Boksburg on Tuesday (July 31).
The construction will affect Trichardts Road between the N12 and Ridge Road.
This is in an effort to widen the roads to increase the capacity of the stormwater system where the road crosses over the stream.
Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe said the metro urges the public to be patient during the process and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the construction.
Gadebe said only half widths of construction work will be done at a time in order to minimise the inconvenience caused to motorists.

This will allow traffic to flow in both directions and avoid a complete road closure.
According to a signboard that was put up, Trichardts and Ridge roads will be under construction from July 30, 2018, to July 30, 2019.
The City Times asked the metro how the EMPD will be controlling the traffic situation and what are the alternate routes motorists can use but has yet to receive a response.
