Daveyton man, 24, gets 15 years for stabbing

Both men are serving their sentence at Modderbee Prison.

Oupa Kalenga Sibisi (24) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for murder on June 27 in the Benoni Regional Court.

Sibisi stabbed a man he was gambling with in Etwatwa, Daveyton, on March 4.

Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said the man was a friend of Sibisi and the two got into an argument while gambling.

“As they were arguing, Sibisi took a sharp object and stabbed his friend in the stomach,” said Maqabe.
